6 Great Ways Of Getting Free Traffic To Your Website
The simple truth is that without traffic you just don’t have an online business. You can have the most amazing websites and products in the world, but if nobody ever gets to see them then your bank balance is not going to rise.
Traffic needs to be targeted too. There’s no point getting a thousand people to a website selling a gardening product if non of them have an interest in gardening.
Getting traffic doesn’t have to be expensive however. Below we’re going to run through what are in my opinion the 6 best ways of getting free traffic to your website:
1. Create a free report
This is one of my favorite methods of generating free traffic because once a free report has gone viral it will generate you traffic for years to come without you having to lift another finger. Write or outsource a report on something that your target audience will find interesting, and inside the report include links back to your websites. The report doesn’t have to be long, but it DOES need to be very high quality. Offer it with full resale and distribution rights, give it away to the right people in your niche, and it should go viral quite quickly.
2. Articles
This is another great way of getting free traffic. Again it is important to make sure that your articles are high quality, well-written, and contain genuinely useful and relevant keyword-optimized content. Make sure you insert a resource box at the end of each article where you can entice your readers to check out your website for more information on the subject.
3. Forum Posting
Many people underestimate the power of this method, but it’s a fantastic way of getting free traffic to your websites. All you need to do is find forums and discussion boards in your niche, then start posting useful information to them, and answering peoples questions. Include a signature link at the bottom of your posts where you link to your website and this should bring you plenty of free traffic. This is also a great way of building ‘expert’ status in your niche.
4. Blog Commenting
In a way this follows on from forum posting. The idea is that you find quality well-read blogs in your niche, and then you look for posts which you could add a useful comment to. The best comments offer further discussion and insight into the original post. You then include a link back to your website.
5. Twitter and Social Networking Sites
I have found Twitter to be a fantastic way of getting free traffic, and the other social networking sites such as Facebook can work in a similar way too. You post ’status updates’ on your life and business, and your followers (or friends) see them on a news feed. All you do is sometimes include links back to your websites.
6. Squidoo Lenses
This can be a great source of free traffic to your website. Basically a ‘lens’ is a webpage containing information on a particular subject. Write a page about your subject, upload it to Squidoo, and include links back to your website. Again make it high quality and keyword optimized content.
