If you’ve been involved with internet marketing for any length of time then you’re bound to have come across viral marketing. I’m talking about producing a free report or eBook which then gets passed around the internet and promotes your links which appear inside.

However many internet marketers seemingly ignore the fact that viral marketing can be used as a money making system in its own right. I’m going to quickly run through with you how you can start earning money from viral marketing today even if you don’t currently have your own website.

But how is this possible?

Basically it’s all about affiliate links.

Let’s say that I want to enter the gardening niche. I produce (or outsource) a twenty page report giving people tips and advice on how to look after a lawn.

All I would then need to do is go to an affiliate website such as Clickbank, find affiliate products which are related to gardening or lawns, and then insert some affiliate links inside my free report.

You would look for affiliate products that expand on the information in your report, and then subtly suggest to your readers that they check out the paid product.

As with all links in eBooks / reports, it’s best not to include too many links or people will just see it as blatant advertising. The way I like to do it is to include a few in-text affiliate links, and also a link at the top of every page. At the end of your book you can then insert a resources page which would include more affiliate links.

Once you’ve got your free report finished then it’s simply a case of getting it going viral around the internet (which is not difficult once you know how) and suddenly you’re earning money from a free report without even having so much as your own website.

The beauty of this method is that there are a virtually limitless supply of niches and affiliate products that you could promote. Have a browse through an affiliate directory such as the Clickbank Marketplace and you should be able to find good products to promote.

Using viral marketing in this way is pretty simple, but it does require a bit of effort.
